Conspiracy 365 – Television series

The news was out last Wednesday that the fantastic 12 part book series Conspiracy 365, written by Gabrielle Lord, will be produced as a 12 part drama television series. Production for the series will begin in June. Below you will be able to read two newspaper articles about it.

Conspiracy 365 is a wonderful book series, written throughout last year. It starts with Cal being chased down the street by a staggering, sick man with a deadly warning…

They killed your father. They’ll kill you. You must survive the next 365 days!”

Each month last year readers waited anxiously for the latest installment! Now readers will have to wait for the television series to come out so they can watch it.

Here’s the article from the Herald Sun, March 30, 2011:

Conspiracy to be shot as TV series

POPULAR Australian teen crime book series, Conspiracy 365, is to be made into a 12-part drama, with the $13 million show to begin production in June.

Conspiracy 365 tells the story of a year in the life of teen fugitive Cal Ormond who is searching for the truth about his family’s deadly secret.

The bestselling book series by Gabrielle Lord, which has sold in more than 13 countries, is broken down into 12 instalments telling the story from January to December.

This will be reflected in the monthly 12-part “family action thriller” to be screened next year on the Family Movie Channel.

“Conspiracy 365 can be enjoyed by the whole family as it works as an action thriller, a mystery, a historical romance and a rites-of-passage tale as a young man comes into his full inheritance,” said Linda Klejus, the boss of Melbourne production company, Circa Entertainment.

The Movie Network Channel’s Peter Jenetsky said the hourly instalments would be complemented with a multi-platform content strategy, offering fans of the show an interactive gaming experience in an Australian first.

Here’s another article from the Australian, March 30, 2011:

Conspiracy to capture the whole family

THE pay-television Movie Network channels will entirely fund a new $13 million-plus family action thriller series based on the Gabrielle Lord novels, Conspiracy 365.

The series will begin filming in Melbourne in June and air as 12 monthly episodes with a thorough multi-platform strategy including gameplay. Put in context, at about $1m an episode, the series will approach the scale and budget of the most expensive Australian TV dramas, including Sea Patrol, and far exceed the cost of a series such as Packed to the Rafters. The series will be produced by Melbourne-based production company Circa Entertainment. Circa Entertainment managing director and series executive producer Linda Klejus says the series will suit whole families as “it works as an action thriller, a mystery, a historical romance and a rites-of-passage tale as a young man comes into his full inheritance”. The book series has more than 400,000 copies in print across Australia and New Zealand, rivalling John Marsden’s Tomorrow, When the War Began.

Hi Samantha. Thanks for dropping by. We in Australia have long had this problem of having to wait for American television to arrive here. 🙂 It’s very frustrating. I feel sure that it will eventually make it to North America and you will be able to see it. Unfortunately I can’t say when that will be.
